Collegiate Swimmer Overcomes Pain and Improves His Athletic Performance
Jake N., a dedicated collegiate swimmer from Hauppauge NY, came to True Sport Care and Chiropractic with a concerning issue. Initially diagnosed with a potential hernia, Jake sought our expertise to weigh in on his complaint, given his history as a long-term patient.
Assessment
During our comprehensive evaluation, we identified muscle weaknesses and imbalances that were contributing to his discomfort. Understanding the demands of his sport, we tailored our approach to address these underlying issues effectively.
Treatment
Jake underwent two sessions of targeted soft tissue therapy aimed at alleviating muscle tension and promoting proper function. Additionally, we designed a concentrated home rehabilitation exercise program to reinforce the treatment and ensure sustained improvement.
Outcome
Following our intervention, Jake’s issue was resolved completely. His commitment to the rehab program played a crucial role in his swift recovery. With the initial problem addressed, we have now shifted our focus to enhancing his shoulder range of motion.
Future Goals
As Jake prepares to return to his collegiate swimming activities, our ongoing work aims to optimize his shoulder function, thereby elevating his performance and reducing the risk of future injuries. We are confident that these efforts will make Jake an even stronger athlete when he gets back in the pool.
